GRATTONS IS STILL CLOSED
I hope you are keeping well and I am sure you are keen to come back to Grattons to bowl again.
I am sure you were as disappointed as we were at the Government announcement of relaxing lockdown measures but did not include indoor bowls clubs. We hope this will come sometime later in July.
A few Board and Committee members met today to discuss what measures we need to put in place prior for when we can open.
I cannot at this stage inform you of how the club will operate as we will have to abide by government regulations and advice from EIBA.
We can say when Grattons opens it will be on a restricted basis in order to comply with social distancing measures etc.
All rink booking will have to be via the web based booking system, which fortunately Grattons had already implemented prior to the closure.
We will probably only be able to use 3 rinks and will have to restrict numbers within the club. We are working from the advice received from EIBA in order to be compliant with all regulations imposed.
We are currently working on plans for sanitising and signage within the club to ensure members stay safe and compliant with the rules.
Whist the club has been closed, a number of jobs have been completed to improve the club facilities.
The ladies changing room has been redecorated and new furniture installed. The mens changing room has been redecorated.
The club bar has had a refit and been redecorated.
The outside of the club is being tided up and refreshed.
Once we receive more clarity on when Grattons can open, we will inform members by Email, Website and Facebook.
Please be patient and stay safe and well.
